In the context of the information released today by Chiril MOȚPAN, member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Security and Intelligence Service communicates the following.

 

The institution will examine in the light of its functional attributions the possible disclosure of classified information on social networks and will report its conclusions to law enforcement bodies for legal assessment of the claimed facts.

 

We also mention that the dismissal of intelligence officers from the SIS takes place in strict accordance with the Law no. 170 of 19-07-2007 on the status of the security and intelligence officer. The disputes on this subject are resolved by the legal procedures in force.

 

The possible involvement of the SIS in the release of Moldovan pilots, taken hostage by the Taliban members in Afghanistan, constitutes classified information. Therefore, SIS will not comment on those statements. This subject is investigated by national law enforcement bodies.

 

In the same line, the Security and Intelligence Service urges the representatives of all central and local public authorities to cooperate closely in order to ensure the protection of classified information.
