The security of the Republic of Moldova is an integral part of global security. The emergence of asymmetric threats in the contemporary era of globalization requires the strengthening of sustainable partnership relations within the complex system of the intelligence community in order to mitigate risks that endanger national and regional security.
Preventing and countering threats to the security of the Republic of Moldova is an endeavour in which the Security and Intelligence Service cooperates with special services and partner structures at regional and international level. Since 1991, following the establishment of the institution, SIS cooperation relations have developed positively and have taken various forms: exchange of information and expertise, participation in specialized events and the conduct of joint operations with foreign partners.
In the context of the Republic of Moldova’s policy of integration into European Union structures, the Service considers accession to regional intelligence platforms and the establishment and promotion of bilateral and multilateral relations with counterpart institutions on the international stage to be an imperative. The purpose of this interaction is to advance the fundamental interests of national security and ensure the SIS’s active involvement in creating an appropriate regional and European security environment, ultimately promoting the image of the Republic of Moldova not only as a consumer of security, but also as a security provider.
