The Antiterrorist Centre of the Security and Intelligence Service carried out a series of training sessions for the employees of the General Inspectorate of Carabineers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Participants were informed about the counter-terrorism issues, in particular about the tactics and methods used by radical entities, the procedures for identifying possible risk situations and suspect individuals, as well as the response measures when such cases are detected.
The course run from 1 to 9 October 2020 and over 500 servicemen joined it, including employees of the “CENTER”, “NORTH” and “SOUTH” Regional Departments, as well as Special Task Force “SCORPION” of the General Inspectorate of Carabineers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The training is part of the activity plan for 2020 of the Antiterrorist Centre of the SIS. It aims to enhance the interaction between the Security and Intelligence Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to prevent and counter terrorism, as well as to strengthen prevention and response mechanisms to eventual risks to national security.
Moreover, such events give the opportunity of establishing direct contacts to help the development and improvement of the cooperation and interoperability instruments among the state bodies, in accordance with the needs and training requirements of the staff that perform national security missions.
