Future Intelligence and Security Officers Took the Oath of Allegiance to Motherland

Today, 12 September, a new generation of intelligence and security officers took the Oath of Allegiance to Motherland. For the first time, the ceremony unfolded in front of the monument dedicated to heroes of state security bodies, inaugurated this year on Memorial Day within the headquarters of the Security and Intelligence Service.

Management of the Service, command and teaching staffs, as well as family members of the young officers attended the event.

According to tradition, the solemnity takes place with the beginning of a new academic year and celebration of the National Institute of Intelligence and Security "Bogdan, the Founder of Moldova", which on 10 September this year marked its 15th anniversary.

In a message, the SIS Director, Mihai BALAN, expressed his appreciation for the students’ determination and courage to choose to work in the intelligence field. He talked about the conditions necessary to guarantee a successful career in the Security and Intelligence Service, as well as the complexity of the profession and confidentiality of the intelligence activity.

Mr. Mihai BALAN congratulated students on taking the Oath of allegiance to Motherland and welcomed them to the profession, where interests of the state and society are superior to the personal ones. He thanked parents and family members for their support and confidence in young people’s success and aspirations.

Moreover, the Director of the Security and Intelligence Service congratulated the teaching staff on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the National Institute of Intelligence and Security and expressed gratitude for their essential role in building high-quality human resources, capable to fulfill the institution’s aim of ensuring citizen, society and state security.

In his speech, Valeriu FURDUI, rector of the NIIS, urged young people to show perseverance, honesty, and lots of responsibility in order to achieve academic and professional excellence. He wished professors zest for work to be able to train valuable specialists. “Your exceptional work is measured in dozens of intelligence officers. The greatest appreciation is their gratitude but also the results they obtain in different fields of activity, defending national interests.”

Students’ relatives added their congratulations and wished them learning achievements, many accomplishments, and an ever-ascending career.
