SIS Takes Part in Open Doors Day, Organized by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova

Today, 15 September, on International Democracy Day, the Security and Intelligence Service takes part in Open Doors Day by invitation of the Parliament.

On this occasion, the Parliament hosts an exhibition of the Security and Intelligence Service, National Anticorruption Centre, Central Electoral Commission, National Bank, and other state institutions that are reporting to it.

Antiterrorist Center and “ALFA” Special Task Force are representing the Security and Intelligence Service at the event.

The exhibition stand of the SIS displays the equipment used by the intelligence officers during their service missions, film-screening showing the activity of the institution, as well as informative materials developed within the policy of security education promotion.

The SIS representatives are available to provide information about the activity of the Antiterrorist Center, its cooperation with other state bodies and foreign partners, national antiterrorist policy, attendant legislation, and measures undertaken at the national level. Moreover, they will present developing tendencies of the terrorist phenomenon and will explain rules of behavior in terrorist crisis situation to those interested. That will help people ensure their personal security both in the country and abroad. In this connection, visitors of the exhibition stand are offered the “Anti-Terrorist Handbook”, developed by the Security and Intelligence Service. It includes instructive and practical recommendations concerning ways of acting and reacting in certain circumstances or situations.

This event is an opportunity to find out and strengthen the link between the Security and Intelligence Service and society. In addition, it is part of the institution’s efforts to become open and transparent, to the extent compatible with its specific activity.
